Going into the Pit...

We have been talking about the Learning Pit. If you are learning something new you often have to go into the pit. Good learners take the risk to learn something new. At first when we learn something new we can be unsure and a little worried that we might look silly or won't be able to do it. We have learnt that it is OK to make mistakes and that is how we learn. 

We say we can't do something 'YET'. We just have to keep trying! Learning to have that grit and perseverance is a wonderful and will help in many things as we grow and learn.

We have all been trying new things that we find tough ranging from new maths ideas, how to write stories, how to skip with a rope and we even tried to tie our own laces. These are all tricky new skills and we just have to keep trying and never give up!
